How to: Create a New Stock Item

To create a new stock record

  1. From the home page, choose Stock
  2. Choose the Stock tab
  3. Choose New to display the wizard
  4. By picking the fields in the order displayed a consistent description will be built up for you. The Code is automatically filled out for you. You can amend this to something more meaningful for your business

    Type - When you print your Van loading and Picking Lists you can select the type of stock item you are printing the report for. See Manifest Reports
    Type Description
    Stock The default for all new stock items. Standard stock items such as a 5x4 Blue Mat.
    Special Any unique stock items. For example, a bespoke mat that belongs to a customer.
    Service Items used specifically for servicing. Such as Air Fresheners or Batteries.
           
  5. Sub Category - Assign the item to a sub category, this will form the first part of the description. For example if you pick 'Tea Towel' the description box shows 'Tea Towel'
  6. Size - Optionally enter a size, normally used for things like Matting. By entering a size it is possible to calculate certain costs associated with the item. As an example the wash cost of a 6ft x 4ft Mat
  7. Weight - By entering the weight of an item, Service Manager can show you the total weight in the van for a specific route and day
  8. Color - This will form part of the description, by picking a Tea Towel and the colour Blue the description with now show 'Tea Towel Blue'
  9. Features - Enter any additional features unique to this product. Such as 'Non-Slip'
  10. All of the above will form a consistent description for your item
  11. Choose Save, your new stock item will be displayed
